Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 16, 2026

PayStrm is a payment processor, and protecting the privacy of nonpublic personal information is central to how we operate. This policy explains what information we collect, from both website visitors and prospective or current merchant customers, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices available to you. We periodically audit our own internal privacy and security practices, and we'd ask that you take a moment to understand this policy so you know what to expect from us.

Information We Collect

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we automatically collect certain technical information, such as the pages you view, how long you spend on them, your general device and browser type, and your IP address. This helps us understand how our site is used and improve it for future visitors. On its own, this information generally doesn't identify you personally.

Information you provide to us. If you apply for services, submit a form, or contact us directly, we collect the information necessary to do that. Depending on the request, this can include:

  • Your name, address, phone number, and email address
  • Your business's name, structure, and tax identification number
  • Social Security numbers or other government-issued identification, for you or for the individuals who own or control the business
  • Bank account and routing information, used to fund and settle your account
  • Information related to your transaction history and processing activity

This information is typically collected from applications, forms, and any correspondence you or your representative send us.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Open, maintain, and service your account
  • Underwrite new merchant applications and assess risk, consistent with our obligations to our sponsor bank and the card networks
  • Process transactions and respond to inquiries
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including anti-money-laundering and recordkeeping requirements
  • Troubleshoot issues and otherwise support your account

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do share it, in limited circumstances, with:

  • Our sponsor bank and the card networks (such as Visa and Mastercard), as required to process transactions and maintain your account
  • Service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as payment processing infrastructure, hosting, and account servicing, each contractually restricted from using your information for any other purpose
  • Consumer and business reporting agencies, as part of underwriting a new application
  • Regulators, law enforcement, or other parties, when required by law, subpoena, or legal process
  • A successor entity, if PayStrm is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

We do not share your information with unaffiliated third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Your Privacy Choices

Because we don't share your information for third-party marketing, there is generally nothing to opt out of on that front. If applicable state law gives you the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, contact us using the information below and we will respond consistent with applicable law.

Use of Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your computer that help us recognize returning visitors and understand how our website is used. Cookies don't read information from your hard drive, and they don't carry viruses or intercept your email.

You can set your browser to block or delete cookies. If you do, some parts of our website may not function as intended.

Email Practices

We will never ask you for personally identifiable or account information over email. If you or your representative receives a suspicious or fraudulent-looking email claiming to be from us, don't respond to it or click any links in it. Please forward it to us at info@paystrm.com so we can look into it.

Email and website contact forms are not secure communication methods. Please don't send us sensitive personal or account information that way. Electronic communications may be retained for legal, regulatory, and customer-service purposes.

Data Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, and we adjust them as threats and regulatory requirements evolve. As a registered MSP/ISO of Elavon, Inc., our payment processing activities are held to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). No security program can guarantee absolute protection, but safeguarding your information is something we take seriously and revisit regularly.

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as your account is active, and afterward for as long as necessary to comply with our legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Children's Privacy

Our website and services are directed at businesses and are not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Our website may link to other websites we don't operate. This policy only covers our own practices. We aren't responsible for the content or privacy practices of any linked site, and we'd encourage you to review its policy separately before providing any information.

Staff Training

Our team is trained to recognize and respond appropriately to attempts to obtain customer information under false pretenses, including verifying that a caller requesting account information is actually authorized on the account. Our written policies governing the handling and disclosure of customer information are reinforced on an ongoing basis, along with how to report anything that looks like a pretext call or other suspicious activity.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the effective date at the top of this page. We'd encourage you to check back periodically.
